Aspen Home Improvements replaces bathtubs, showers, and the walls around them for homeowners across 24 counties in Pennsylvania, Maryland, and West Virginia. We have been a family-owned home remodeling company since 1990, with over 35 years of experience, we are dedicated to providing homeowners with high-quality bath and shower replacement services.
Our service is a wet space replacement, which means we replace the parts of your bathroom that are built to get wet: the tub or shower, the waterproof wall system behind it, the fixtures, and the door enclosure. Choose from a wide selection of shower surround styles and accessories and we can turn it into a reality within just 1-3 days. Updating your Bath or shower space can help you reduce excess water usage while improving the accessibility of your space.
What a Wet Space Bath and Shower Replacement Includes
We replace your entire wet area as one complete system. Installing a new tub against old wall panels, or new wall panels around an aging bath base, can leave seams where water and moisture can get behind the wall. Over time, that moisture can contribute to rot, mold, and other problems.
That’s why we don’t replace just part of the system. At Aspen Home Improvements, we don’t cut corners. We replace the wet area as a complete system to help ensure your new bath is built to last for years to come.
Here’s what’s included with our bath replacement service:
Tub & Shower Replacement
The bathtub or shower itself is removed and replaced within the existing footprint.
- Bathtub replacement
- Shower replacement
- Tub-to-shower conversion
- Shower-to-tub conversion
- Walk-in shower installation
- Shower bases and pans
- Tub surrounds
Waterproof Wall System
This is the part homeowners often underestimate, but it plays an important role in how well your new wet area performs over time.
- Waterproof wall panels
- Shower and tub surround panels
- Corner panels, back walls, and accent walls
- Decorative wall systems
- Waterproofing behind and around the wet area
Shower & Tub Fixtures
- Shower heads
- Handheld showers with slide bars
- Shower valves and controls
- Tub and shower faucets
- Drains
- Shower accessories
Doors & Enclosures
- Sliding shower doors
- Hinged shower doors
- Semi-frameless glass shower doors
- Frameless glass shower doors (coming soon)
- Curtain rods when they are the better fit for the space

Water damage in a bathroom almost never starts at the tub. It starts at a grout line or a seam in the wall, gets behind the surface, and works on the framing for years before anyone sees it. We replace the wall system and the waterproofing together with the unit, every time.

The Products We Install
Aspen installs quality bath and shower systems built by Bath Concepts, an American manufacturer that has been making acrylic bath and shower systems for more than 25 years.
Made in the United States
Every wall system and base is manufactured in the USA and built to the measurements of your bathroom. Nothing gets cut to fit on site. This is the same standard we hold on the rest of our lines, where our windows are manufactured here in Pennsylvania.
Non-Porous, Grout-Free Surfaces
The wall systems are a high-tech acrylic polymer with no grout lines in the field of the wall. Nothing porous, nothing to soak up mineral deposits, nothing to reseal every year. The surface resists mold and mildew because there is nowhere for either one to take hold.
Antimicrobial Protection
There are even Luxury Bath options that carry Microban antimicrobial protection features.
Colors and Patterns
Solid colors, stone-look, subway tile, and tile-look patterns, so the finished shower does not look like a plastic insert dropped into an older home.
Lifetime Warranty
The product carries a lifetime warranty. Aspen's warranty is transferable, so if you sell the house, it goes to the next owner.

Walk-In Showers and Accessible Bathing
Most homeowners who call us about a tub to shower conversion are not doing it for looks. They are doing it because getting in and out of a bathtub has stopped being easy, and they want to stay in the house they have lived in for thirty years.
Low and Zero Threshold Entry
A standard bathtub wall is 14 to 16 inches to step over. A low-threshold shower base cuts that down substantially, and a barrier-free base removes the step almost entirely.
Built-In Seating and Grab Bars
A folding or built-in bench gives you somewhere to sit. Our Grab bars are anchored into a blocking behind the wall, not simply screwed into the surround, to ensure they have the support and stability needed for everyday use.
Slip-Resistant Shower Floors
Textured, slip-resistant bases instead of a smooth acrylic pan. This matters more than most homeowners expect.
Handheld Shower Heads and Reachable Controls
A handheld on a slide bar, and a valve positioned so you can turn the water on before you step in.
If you are planning to stay in your home as you get older, say so during the in-home visit. It changes which base and which layout we recommend.
Our Bath and Shower Replacement Process
Free In-Home Consultation
An Aspen estimator comes to your house, looks at the actual bathroom, measures the space, and talks through what you want to change. You get a written price on that visit, and it stays good for one year.
Design and Custom Order
You pick the unit, the wall system, the color and pattern, the door, and the accessories. During your in-home consultation, our design consultant can also provide a free 3D rendering, giving you a realistic preview of what your new bath or shower will look like before installation begins. Your custom bath system is then built to the measurements of your space.
Removal and Prep
We remove the old tub or shower and the old walls, protect the rest of the bathroom and the path in and out of your house, and check the framing and subfloor before anything new goes in.
Waterproofing and Installation
The wet area gets waterproofed, the new base goes in level, the wall system goes on, the fixtures get set, and everything gets sealed. This all done by our own team of trained professionals.
Walkthrough and Warranty
We walk the finished bathroom with you, clean up, haul the old unit away, and register your warranty.
Why Homeowners Choose Aspen
Family owned since 1990. Thirty-five years installing on homes in this region, under the same name. We are not a bath brand that opened an office here last year.
A quote that is valid for a year. The price will not expire the moment you say you want to think about it. If you have sat through a bath sales pitch before, you know why that matters.
A+ rated with the Better Business Bureau. 4.7 out of 5 on Google, 4.5 out of 5 on Angi.
Transferable lifetime warranty on labor and materials. If you sell the house, the warranty goes with it to the next owner.
One company, six services. We already replace windows, doors, siding, roofs, and gutters for homeowners across this footprint. Bath and shower is the same crews, the same standards, and the same warranty.

Bath & Shower Replacement FAQs
The cost of a tub-to-shower conversion can vary depending on the size of the space, materials selected, fixtures, accessibility features, and the scope of the installation. National 2026 data puts walk-in shower installations at approximately $9,000 to $20,000, though a tub-to-shower conversion may vary depending on the specific project.
Installation is typically 1-3 days. Before that there is an ordering window while your wall system and base are built to your measurements. A full bathroom gut renovation, by comparison, usually takes three to six weeks.
The wet space is the part of the bathroom built to get wet: the tub or shower, the waterproof walls around it, the fixtures, and the door. A wet space replacement covers all of that. It does not cover vanities, toilets, flooring, painting, lighting, or moving the room's layout.
The wet area gets waterproofed before the new wall system goes on. This is the step that decides whether the installation lasts, and it is the step that gets skipped when a job is priced too cheaply. We also check the framing and subfloor while the wall is open, and if something back there has failed, we tell you before we fix it.
It depends on your municipality. Replacing a tub or shower in the same location without moving plumbing often does not require a permit, but Pennsylvania municipalities enforce the Uniform Construction Code differently, and Maryland and West Virginia townships have their own rules. Aspen handles permitting where the local code office requires it.
Usually yes. A standard 60 by 32 alcove that holds a bathtub will hold a walk-in shower, and removing the tub almost always makes a small bathroom feel larger. We confirm it during the in-home measurement.
It can, if it is the only tub in the house. Buyers with young children generally want at least one bathtub. If you have more than one full bathroom, converting the one you actually use to a shower is usually the better decision. Your estimator will tell you honestly which situation you are in.
For this region, usually yes. Central Pennsylvania's hard water attacks grout, and tile showers need resealing and regrouting on a schedule. A non-porous acrylic wall system has no grout lines to fail and no annual maintenance. Tile offers more design range. Acrylic offers less upkeep.
A wet space replacement covers the tub and shower area and the walls around it. It does not cover the rest of the bathroom. These fall outside the scope:
Vanities, cabinets, countertops, and sinks
Toilet replacement
Flooring across the bathroom
Painting
Lighting and electrical work unrelated to the wet area
Major plumbing relocation
Changing the bathroom's layout
Grab bars have to be anchored into blocking behind the wall to hold weight safely. In an existing shower there is usually no way to do that without opening the wall, which is most of a replacement anyway. Adding them during a wet space replacement is the right time to do it.
Yes. Low-threshold and barrier-free bases, built-in and folding seats, properly anchored grab bars, slip-resistant floors, handheld shower heads, and accessible tubs. Tell us during the in-home visit that accessibility is the goal, and we will design around it.
We install across 14 counties in Pennsylvania, 7 in Maryland, and 3 in West Virginia. The full list is above. If you are on the edge of the footprint, call us and we will tell you yes or no.
Yes. The product carries a lifetime warranty, and Aspen's labor and materials warranty is transferable to the next owner if you sell the house.

What Homeowners Say About Aspen
Very good working with this company. Product is good. Like family owned business… very friendly! Purchased a new sliding door and window.
Wonderful people to work with! In order to replace the door, they had to remove the original woodwork, but once it was in they put it back up so well that we can't see a difference. Everyone was great. The salesman, the technician that did the work and the person that did the follow up. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone!
The experience was awesome. Luke, our sales person, was amazing, friendly and knowledgeable and willing to get the answers we needed. The install was easy. They communicated throughout the process. I would recommend Aspen to anyone.
Great window quality. Customer service has been good with taking care of a few minor issues. Nice little gift box when they come for a final review.
Very grateful that this company would tackle the siding on our vintage log cabin. The crew that did the work had weather challenges with several snow events, but the work is well done and we've had compliments as to how Nice our house looks. Thank you Aspen!
